Attribution refers to the source where a lead originated before submitting their details to your practice. Accurate tracking helps you understand which marketing efforts are working.

🔍 What Is Lead Attribution?

Attribution identifies where a lead came from — whether that’s a Google ad, Facebook campaign, or your practice website.

With proper tagging and tracking (e.g. via Google Analytics or DenGro's JavaScript), the lead’s journey can be captured when they submit a form.

🔐 Does Tracking Always Work?

Tracking may be impacted by:

  • Use of incognito/private browsers

  • Missing or disabled tracking scripts

  • Incomplete form setups

These variables can prevent DenGro from receiving complete data.

📊 What Does DenGro Track?

DenGro automatically assigns attribution based on the data received at the point of lead capture.

This data is aligned with Google Analytics' structure, including:

  • Channel (e.g. Paid Search, Organic, Social)

  • Source (e.g. Google, Facebook)

🛠️ Who Sets Up Tracking?

Lead tracking must be set at the source, i.e. on the website or landing page form.

DenGro does not create or insert tracking – we interpret what your site or form sends us.

Who’s responsible:

  • Your marketing agency or internal web team must set up and maintain correct tracking.

  • It’s important that tracking data persists through the lead’s journey to the form submission.

✅ Testing Your Tracking

We strongly recommend:

  • Testing all lead forms

  • Checking the Lead Profile page in DenGro to ensure attribution data appears correctly

If attribution is missing or incorrect:

  • Contact your marketing team or web developer

  • Ensure your form is capturing and passing the correct tracking parameters

📝 Setting Custom Attributions

You can manually record lead sources that aren’t tracked automatically — such as walk-ins, flyers, or newspaper ads.

To set up custom sources:

  1. Go to Settings (⚙️ icon at top right)

  2. Select Details

  3. Scroll to Attribution Sources

  4. Add your custom source and assign a Channel

These will now appear in the “How did the lead hear about you?” dropdown when manually adding a lead.

💡 Final Tips

  • All new forms connected to DenGro should be tested for attribution accuracy

  • Attribution helps track marketing ROI, so ensuring it works well benefits both your practice and your agency

  • DenGro Support can help investigate issues after correct tracking is confirmed on your end
